October 1, 2017 — Early Bird Registration Period Begins
Registration opens at noon with a discounted submission fee of $75 for early registrants.
December 15, 2017 — Early Bird Registration Ends
Regular Price submission fee is $125
Friday, January 26, 2018 — Registration Deadline
Registration closes at NOON.
Saturday, January 27, 2018 — Festival Kick Off Party
The Kick Off party runs from 6-8pm and will be held at Z Systems (map). All teams are required to have at least one representative present to receive important festival information. Drinks are free (bring a valid 21+ State ID for alcoholic drinks). Parking available on the street, in the lot behind the building, or in the lot to the North of the building (towards Highway 7). We recommend carpooling, as there will be a lot of people attending!
Sunday, February 4, 2018 — Super Bowl LII (52) – has nothing to do with Z-Fest, but just wanted to remind you that the superbowl is this weekend!
Sunday, February 11, 2018 — Turn-In Deadline – Films and Trailers Due
Films and trailers must be delivered in person by 4pm to Z Systems (see map). Staff will be available from 2:00pm to 4:00pm that day.
NOTE: We are asking that teams turn their films in early if possible. This is a turn in deadline, but films can be turned in ANY TIME PRIOR to this date and time.
Tuesday, February 13, 2018 — Production Stills Due
Each team must upload 3 photos to the Z Fest Facebook Wall that were taken during production.
Tuesday, February 13, 2018 — Trailer Contest Launch
Voting begins at noon.
Tuesday, February 27, 2018 — Trailer Contest Closes
Voting ends at 5pm.
Friday, March 2 & 9, 2018 — Festival General Theater Screenings (tickets)
Screening location is New Hope Cinema Grill (map). Screenings will be held in two sessions: one from 7:00-8:30 PM and the second from 8:45-10:15 PM each evening.
Friday, March 23, 2018 — Best of Fest Screening and Awards Ceremony (tickets)
Best of Fest and Awards Gala will be held at Radisson Blu @ Mall of America. Tickets are required to attend, and one ticket grants entry to both events. Top films will be screened at 7:00 p.m., directly followed by the awards presentation.
