Jemma Heigis – Composer Prize Package

Jemma Heigis is a composer, arranger, pianist, and singer from Trenton, New Jersey. She is currently a senior completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She has composed music for the documentary “My Dream, My Right” that follows Syrian refugee children in the Za’Atari refugee camp in Jordan (http://www.votchildren.org/my-dream-my-right.html). The film had its American premiere at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival.

Jemma has also written music for the video game “Everend” (http://www.thatowlgame.com/) and the television show “Minnesota Original” that is broadcast on Minnesota’s PBS station, TPT (http://www.mnoriginal.org/). In addition, she has sung on the feature film “400 Days” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uv-76zaJMgg) and frequently arranges string quartets for weddings and events. In her free time, you can find her playing piano, writing music, and performing in the Twin Cities with her band “Fifth Season.”
